Ada Theoline Hanevold, age 106, of Altoona, formerly of Whitehall, was called by our Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2015 in Grace Edgewood Assisted Living in Altoona.

Ada was born on November 5, 1908 in Whitehall to Oliver and Mathilda (Mahlum) Narveson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Fagernes Lutheran Church in rural Blair.

Ada attended school in Irvins Coulee, rural Whitehall, graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1926 and the Teacher's College in Eau Claire in 1928. Ada taught school in Fly Creek.

Ada married Albin Hanevold on August 22, 1931 in Whitehall. Together they farmed on the family farm in Fly Creek until they retired in 1977 and moved to Whitehall. Albin preceded Ada in death on March 26, 1979.

Ada was a member of the Fly Creek Ladies Aid, SAF (Scandinavian American Fraternity) and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall where she taught Sunday School and Summer Bible School. She was also active in Our Saviour's various organizations.

Ada was a very good cook and baker and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

Ada is survived by three children, Phillip (Elsie) Hanevold of West Allis, Lorene "Lori" (Victor) Jenson of Elk Mound and Marilynn "Jeanie" (Morrie Veilleux) Guinn of New Richmond; nine grandchildren, Phylaine (Dan) Nicholas, Troy (Chris) Hanevold, Bruce (Rhonda) Jenson, Brian (Jill) Jenson, Vicki (Geno) Johnson, Wendy (Ryan) Sterry, Kyle (Alicia Block) Guinn, Krista (Ben) Fink and Casey (Stacy) Guinn; twenty great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ada was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred and two grandsons, Terry Hanevold and Mark Jenson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall with Pastor Yvonne Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Old Whitehall Cemetery in rural Whitehall.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Ada's family would like to express their appreciation for the staff at Grace Edgewood for the love, friendship and kindness they have given to Ada when she lived there.
