Agnes Marie Kashuba, age 86, of Whitehall, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in her home.

Agnes was born on January 23, 1931 to Simon A. and Cecilia R. (Mlynek) Marsolek in the town of Burnside, Trempeleau County, WI.

At the age of five, the family bought a 40 acre farm in the town of Lincoln on Lewis Lane where Agnes helped her father and mother raise tobacco and clear fields with horses. She attended Whitehall school graduating in 1949 from the Whitehall Memorial High School.

After graduation, Agnes moved to Mason City, IA where she found employment in a bank for a time. She then moved to Milwaukee where she found employment at AC Spark Plug and worked part time in a restaurant where she met her future husband, Robert L. Kashuba. After their engagement, they were married in Whitehall on May 5, 1956 in St. John's Catholic Church. They made their home in Milwaukee and on July 31, 1958 they welcomed a son, Robert Simon.

Agnes was always a loving, caring and devoted wife and mother to her family. In March of 1968 the family moved to Whitehall. Agnes, her husband and son helped her parents to remain on the farm doing things as needed. For a short time Agnes was employed in various part time jobs and worked at Schuller's Chocolate Factory in Winona, MN. But mostly, she devoted her time caring for her family, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Agnes had many interests, she loved crocheting, knitting and making craft items. She enjoyed nature, observing birds, squirrels, rabbits, deer and other wildlife that found their way in to her back yard where she could view them from the kitchen window.

She also enjoyed shopping with her son in thrift stores, buying some things, but mainly browsing.

Agnes always put her family first and devoted her life helping make others lives easier and more enjoyable.

Agnes is survived by her husband, Robert L. Kashuba; her only son, Robert S. Kashuba; her cousins, Marion (Norman) Miller, LeRoy Marsolek, Germaine Marsolek, Kenneth Marsolek, Sharon (Jim) Jolivette, Daniel Marsolek, Mark Marsolek and Mary (Bob) Johnson and a dear friend, Fern Moe.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall with Father Woodrow Pace officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Whitehall on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
