Albert Terry Yates, age 80, of Whitehall, died on Friday, June 22, 2018 in The Oakwood Villa in Altoona.

Albert was born on November 13, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to Albert W. and Dorothy J. (Gaston) Yates. He married Patricia McDevitt on January 21, 1967 in Philadelphia.

After graduating from John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, Albert joined the United States Marine Corps. He served at the marine base on the Japanese Island of Okinawa. After returning home, he worked at Philadelphia Electric Company until relocating to Whitehall, WI in 1978.

Albert loved the Packers and especially enjoyed following Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball over the years. When he wasn't following sports, his hobbies were reading and talking politics.

Albert was employed as a nursing assistant at the Trempealeau County Health Care Center in Whitehall prior to his retirement.

Albert is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Matthew (Mary) Yates and Mike (Angie) Yates of Eau Claire, WI; three grandchildren, Dominic, Mara and Caleb.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
