Alice G. Livezey, age 102, of Black River Falls, formerly of Blair, died on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.

Alice was born on March 8, 1914 in Merrillan, WI to Erick and Lena (Hanson) Erickson.  Her siblings were Marie, Earl, Roy and Evelyn.  They were left at young ages with their Gramma Hanson.  Alice was adopted by her Aunt Hannah and James Martin and moved to Minneapolis, MN.  In her teen years she moved to California where she lived for the next 25 years.

Alice married Lowell "Shorty" Livezey in 1962. They moved back to Wisconsin and lived the Eau Claire area and later to Taylor. Lowell preceded Alice in death in 1989.

Alice moved to Blair and opened a sewing shop. She is well remembered for her sewing ability and alterations. Alice retired from her shop at the age of 90.

Alice was an avid sports fan and her favorite football team was Notre Dame and its quarterback Brady Quinn. She also enjoyed the Kentucky Derby and would call her friends, Jerry and Liz Hjornevik, and tell them who she thought would win, and they often did. Liz was a caregiver to Alice and a dear friend for many years.

Alice was a member of St. Ansgar's Catholic Church in Blair and was the oldest member of the church. She so enjoyed being a part of the congregation and taught a Youth Bible class.

Alice is survived by a sister, Evelyn Walsted of Black River Falls; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by a sister, Marie (Cecil) Olver and two brothers, Earl (Marie) and Roy Erickson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ansgar's Catholic Church with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery both in Blair. Father Nathan will officiate.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
