Anna Margaret Huson, age 86, of Whitehall, died on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Oak Gardens Assisted Living in Altoona.

Anna was born on June 1, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to Edward and Elizabeth (Boyle) McDevitt. She married Robert F. Huson in Philadelphia, PA. Robert preceded Anna in death on March 10, 1987.

Anna had a great love for the beach, bingo, music and dancing. When she was younger her Dad taught the girls how to two-step by dancing with him with their feet on his feet. Her Dad taught his sons to dance by having them practice with their sisters. Anna loved to do the jitterbug.

Anna was very sociable and loved to tell stories about growing up as one of six children. Even though they were not rich with money, her parents taught all of the children that the love of family was very important and so was their dedication and love of the Catholic religion.

Right before Anna passed away, she told her children that her Mom was up in heaven rocking all the babies and that her Dad was up in heaven repairing all the rocking chairs.

Anna is survived by four children, Eugene (Cindy Herried) Huson of Whitehall, Patricia (Jeff) Olson of Osseo, Christopher Huson and Margaret Sluga both of Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Elizabeth (Al) Pietrzak and Patricia (Terry) Yates and a brother, James (Kathy) McDevitt.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Edward McDevitt.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John's Catholic Church in Whitehall with Father Woodrow Pace officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
