Bernice Eleanor Berg Wilson, age 90, of Blair, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Bernice was born on June 22, 1922 in rural Taylor to Helmer and Florence (Johnson) Johnson. She married Martin R. Berg in October of 1940 in Blair. Martin preceded Bernice in death on May 11, 1980. Bernice later married James H. Wilson on September 13, 1986 in Amery, WI. James preceded Bernice in death on April 17, 2007.

Bernice was employed as a cook at the Trempealeau County Health Care Center in rural Whitehall and later did home health care. She enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery and music. Bernice was an excellent cook and baker and loved to make homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and lefse.

Bernice is survived by her children, Margaret Berg of Sturtevant, WI, Laura (Norman) Ira of West Salem, Hazel (Kendall) Houglum of Onalaska, Beverly Berg of Mundelein, IL and Marrtin B. Berg of Blair; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Junice Glasspoole of Beloit and Loretta (Maynard) Dokkestul of Barron; two brothers, Gaylord (Mabel) Johnson of Port Orchard, WA and Ralph (Agnes) Johnson of Hixton.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Bernice was preceded in death by a son, Gary Berg; a daughter, Lucille Toth; a grandson, Adam Hebior; three brothers, Hensel, Orville and Vilas; two sisters, Esther and Arlene.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fagernes Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Blair. Pastor Ria Wilkins will officiate.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Fagernes Lutheran Church.
