Betty Jane Loken, age 85, of Ettrick, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse.

Betty was born on September 17, 1928 in Austin, MN to Donald and Mary (Haskin) McDougall. She married Earl G. Loken on September 23, 1946 in Blair. Earl preceded Betty in death on May 14, 1999.

Betty and Earl farmed in the Hegg area. Betty enjoyed drives in the country, writing in journals, baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by a son, Ronald (Janet) Loken of Ettrick; a daughter, Vicky (Dennis) Loken-Pieper of Ettrick; three grandchildren, Nichole Loken of LaCrosse, Jeffrey (Jessica) Loken of Holmen and MaryBeth (Lester) Beardsley of Ettrick; five great-grandchildren, Essence, Dominic and Jada Loken, Noah and Caleb Riley; two brothers, Russell McDougall of Blair and Duane (Ann) McDougall of Mt. Pleasant, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Ksionsk.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the North Beaver Creek First Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Elizabeth Albertson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
