Cathy Lynn Grove, age 64, of rural Ettrick, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at her home.

Cathy was born on June 2, 1960 in Dixon, IL to Edward and Frances (LaBar) Taylor.

Cathy had a full past, growing up with love of all animals, working with various veterinarians in rescue and rehabilitation efforts.  She often found homes for or took in stray cats and dogs.  Cathy had a love horses and a fondness for German Shepherds.  Cathy was an avid camper whose love of the outdoors and the quiet associated with it, led her to the Great Boundary Waters, a lake between northern Minnesota and Canada, preceded by a sign which reads, "Where the road ends."  It is here where she would like her cremains scattered.

Cathy also worked for the IDOC in both the juvenile and adult divisions.  For the past 24 years, she lived in the quiet Ettrick countryside, working as a residential real estate appraiser owning CM Appraisals.

Cathy excelled at crafts such as macramé and resin art and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Cathy is survived two children, Crystal Taylor (John Hicks) and Terrell Spangler (Amanda Heller); five grandchildren, Amaya, Lillianna, Sophie, Dylan and Elijah; a brother, Lyle Taylor; a sister, Dixie (Keith) Eberhardt; an uncle, Harry (Catherine) LaBar and her fiancé, Samuel Montelione.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Taylor Sr. and Edward Taylor Jr. and a niece, Samantha Taylor.

May Almighty God grant her the blessing of eternal peace for the joy that was her life and for the tireless inspiration she left behind.
