Chester A. Anderegg, 95, of Blair WI passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Grandview Care Center in Blair WI.
Chester was born on April 9, 1919 in the Township of Hamburg, WI to Fred & Ann (Lemke) Anderegg. He grew up in Coon Valley, WI until moving to Blair in the early 1930's when his father purchased a farm in the Blair area.
Chester married Myrinne Hanson on June 28, 1941, in Blair WI. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair. He worked as a manager at the Blair Feed Mill and went on to work for AMPI before retiring in 1984.
Chester was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Blair-Ettrick Sportsman's Club, the Blair Sportsman's Club, and the Black Hawk Retrievers Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and training hunting dogs. In addition to hunting all over Wisconsin, he traveled to Wyoming, Colorado, Newfoundland and Ontario Canada on his hunting expeditions. He loved hunting deer, antelope, caribou, moose, ducks, geese, pheasants, and turkey. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada, on the Trempealeau River for walleye and area streams for trout. He especially enjoyed sharing his hunting and fishing stories with his family, friends and all those who were interested. He wrote an article about his most exciting moose hunt adventure titled "Last Call For Moose," which was published in the Outdoor Life Magazine in January, 1970. Chester along with his stories and his excitement for the outdoors will be deeply missed by his family.
Chester is survived by his son, Roger Anderegg of Blair, WI; daughter-in-law Nancy Anderegg of Holmen, WI; four grandchildren Nicole (Scott) Davis of Chippewa Falls, WI, Brent Anderegg of Houston TX, Scott (Cindy) Anderegg of Ettrick WI, Stacey (Jeff) Rau of Ettrick WI, and Steve (Akshatha) Anderegg of Onalaska; and six great grandchildren Andrew, Bailey, Alyssa, Chelsea, Tauna, and Max.
Chester is preceded in death by his wife Myrinne; son Gerald Anderegg; daughter-in-law Lana Anderegg; two brothers Erwin Anderegg, Paul Anderegg, and his sister Marion Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday July 31, 2014 in the Blair Lutheran Church West with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair. The Rev. Barbara Bruneu will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
