Clifford Howard Thompson, age 83, of rural Taylor, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair. He was the last of 15 children born to Iver and Josephine Thompson.

Clifford was born on August 19, 1931 in Whitehall to Iver and Josephine (Olson) Thompson. He attended school in the Jackson County town of Franklin and served in the United States Army. Clifford worked for Madison Silo for a few years and then farmed in Franklin. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Clifford is survived by two sisters-in-law, Junice Thompson of Mankato, MN and Connie Thompson of Madison; 24 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by three infant siblings,nine brothers, Morris, Eddie I., John, Ingvald, Tharold, Martin, Haldor, Bernt and Ole; two sisters, Olive Carlson and Ila Haltner and two nephews, Ardell and Ronnie.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Beaver Creek First Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. Pastor Elizabeth Albertson will officiate. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
