Cory "Coyote" Otis Berg, age 58, of rural Taylor, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from injuries sustained in a logging accident.

Cory was born December 7, 1964 in Whitehall to Otis and Lillian (Hoem) Berg. Cory and Julie Holstad were together for 30 years and were married on January 31, 2018.

Cory enjoyed anything outside, including mowing the lawn, landscaping, logging, fishing, farming, watching his grandkids at their games and events, grilling with friends and family and swimming in the pool.

Cory's home and door was always open for those to stop over and visit. He was one to stop whatever he was doing to help those around him; fixing cars and lawn mowers and cutting trees for others. If anyone had any questions on farming, he would have all the answers. Whatever you needed, he was there and wanted nothing in return. Cory was the most kindhearted and loving guy you would ever meet, would always walk around with a smile on his face and only saw the good in people. He will forever be missed.

Cory is survived by his wife, Julie; two daughters, Cortney (Brian) Schultz and Danielle (Logan) McNamer; two grandchildren, Tristen and Blakelee; eleven brothers and sisters, Mike (Glenda) Berg, David (Mary) Berg, Sharon Berg, Teeny (Charlie) Kuchel, Dagmar (James) Nelson, Owen Berg, Alice Bagnell, Marie (Richie) Anderson, Danny Berg, Lance (Kathy) Berg and Brian Berg along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Cory was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnie and Jeff Berg; his father-in-law, Jerry Holstad; his maternal and paternal grandparents as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Blair Lutheran Church West (Zion) in Blair. Burial will be in the Pigeon Creek Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Pigeon Falls at a later date.
