Darlene M. Garson age 78 of Blair, WI peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday March 4, 2013 in the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.

Darlene was born on December 30, 1934 to Alvin and Erna (Meyer) Nelson. She Married Richard Garson on April 17, 1955 in Lafayette, MN

Darlene was employed at ETCO in Ettrick, WI for several years, owned and operated the D+D Shoes and Booze Liquor Store in Blair. She later retired from the housekeeping dept. at the Grandview Care Center in Blair.

Darlene was known as a great visitor, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and reading.

Darlene is survived by four children Mark (Debbie) Garson of Blair, Tami Johnson (Peter Burkhart) of Waupaca, WI, Kim (Michael) Westly of Woodbury, MN, Kris (Kent) Nelson of Eastman, WI. Eight grandchildren; Michael (Kelly) Garson, Danielle (Andrew) Weber, Zac Johnson, Ariel (Rick) Waldoch, Samantha Wirth (John Pedersen), Lucas Wirth, Levi Nelson, Erica Nelson. Three great grandchildren Kaden and Liam Garson and Jackson Pedersen. Darlene is also survived by a sister Gloria (John) Swanson and two brothers Dean (Charlotte) Nelson and Gene (Julie) Nelson.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 9, 2013 in the Blair Lutheran Parish East Building. The Rev. Barbara Bruneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till time of service at the church. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Blair.

Memorials may be given in Darlene's name to the Grandview Care Center Auxiliary, Blair Food Pantry or the Blair Preston Public Library.
