Darlene "Darby" Gail Vehrenkamp, age 84, of Blair, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Darlene was born on November 27, 1932 in rural Trempealeau to William "Joe" and Lila (Harris) Gibbs. Darlene attended grade school in Centerville and graduated from the Galesville High School in 1950. Darlene was baptized and later married in the Centerville Methodist Church to her husband, Richard Vehrenkamp, on June 30, 1951. Richard preceded Darby in death on June 18, 2012.

Darlene is survived by her six children, Wayne Vehrenkamp of Hegg, Steve "Willie" (Tammy) Vehrenkamp of Hegg, Wanda Vehrenkamp of Osseo, Joye (Scott) Hanson of Blair, Jay (Linda) Vehrenkamp of Blair and Scott Vehrenkamp of Hegg; six grandchildren, Josh, Leah, Katie, Joe, Abby and Will; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Henry, Daizy, Vivian and Oliver; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Bagniewski of Holmen.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by a brother, Donald and a granddaughter, Jacky.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor David Hendrickson will officiate.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
