David Albert Howerton, age 77, of Blair, died on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

David was born on December 14, 1939 in Lompoc, CA to Albert and Ruth (Wolford) Howerton. David served in the United States Air Force and married Marcella Tipper in 1967 in Lompoc, CA.

David and Marcie moved to Las Vegas in 1976 where David was a slot technician and supervisor for Terrible Herbst. They moved to Whitehall in 2010 and later to Blair. David enjoyed astronomy, history and science.

David is survived by his wife, Marcie; two daughters, Liz and Kathy Howerton; three grandchildren, Chase, Dane and Cesar Samples.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Andersen.

No services are planned at this time.
