David Allen Johnson, age 80, of Taylor, died on Friday, December 3, 2021 in the Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls.

David was born on September 9, 1941 in Black River Falls to Silas and Myrtle (Hoem) Johnson and graduated from the Black River Falls High School in 1960.  David married Charlotte Bue on September 16, 1961 in the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Taylor.

Da vid worked for the Jackson County Highway Department before leaving for Fort Lewis, Washington for the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis.  David loved to go hunting and fishing with his sons.  His other passion was flying his planes.

David owned several businesses throughout his life and also drove school buses, tankers and dump trucks.

David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte; three sons, Duane (Kelly) Allen and Roger; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Gerald; a brother, Duane; three sisters, Joyce Jeffery, Lorraine Leffingwell and Marlys Schultz; in-laws, Inez and Roy Bue and a nephew, Donald (Joey) Peterson.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Taylor Lutheran Church in Taylor with Pastor Natalie Leske officiating.  Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in rural Taylor.

Visitation will be Friday, December 10, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
