Deanna Dawn Matchey, age 63, of rural Osseo, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her home.

Deanna was born March 24, 1955 in Eau Claire to George and Mavis (Peterson) Matchey. She graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1973 and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse obtaining both Bachelor and Master of Education degrees.

Deanna taught health and physical education and coached softball for the Whitehall High School prior to her retirement in 2012. She was currently employed with Pioneer Seed Corn in Eau Claire.

Deanna grew up on a farm near Pleasantville. She pitched for the Pleasantville women's softball team for many years. Deanna enjoyed nature and was active in the Democratic party. Deanna enjoyed cooking, baking and loved to refurbish everything. Deanna inspired many. A motto for Deanna would be, "I am just trying to do the right thing".

Deanna is survived by a sister, Nancy (Thomas) Sherren of Andover, MN; two brothers, Wayne Matchey of Osseo and Ronald Matchey of Whitehall; four nieces and nephews, Amy Jo and Jennifer Sherren and Lucas and Elizabeth Matchey; and Logan and Chandler Johnson.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Whitehall. Pastor Dennis Voss will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
