Donald Wayne Anderson, age 83, of Holmen, formerly of Ettrick, died on Monday, January 26, 2015 in the Marinuka Manor in Galesville.

Donald was born on April 7, 1931 in Saint Paul, MN to Arthur and Alpha (Peterson) Anderson. He graduated from the Glenwood City High School in Glenwood City, WI in 1950. Donald served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954.

Donald married Shirley Mae Lee on November 3, 1957 in Whitehall, WI. Donald was employed as a fire fighter and paramedic with the West Allis Fire Department for thirty years prior to his retirement in January of 1987.

Donald enjoyed golfing, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed fishing trips to Alaska and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

Donald was an active member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Ettrick Lion's Club.

Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley; four children, Jeff (Rebecca) Anderson of Washington, PA, Todd (Francine) Anderson of Longwood, FL, Jayne (Todd) Mueller of Castle Pines, CO and Daniel (Jackie) Anderson of Castle Rock, CO; eight grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Sullivan, Bradley (Jackie) Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Emily Mueller, Ryan Mueller, Riley Anderson and Anna Mueller; two great-grandchildren, Angelina and Conner Sullivan; two brothers, Clifford (Jean) Anderson of Glenwood City, WI and Richard Anderson of Menomonee Falls, WI; a sister, Gloria (Arnold) Thompson of Holmen, WI; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Harold and Eugene Anderson and three sisters, Myrtle Newman, Clarice Shoves and Mae Shefland.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick, WI with Pastor Anna Sorenson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Runnestrand-Pederson American Legion Post #354 of Ettrick and the VFW Post #1156 of Galesville-Ettrick.

Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick, WI and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Donald's family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Marinuka Manor, Gundersen Health System and all of Donald's friends.
