Donald Roy Sosalla, age 74, of Whitehall, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

Donald was born on December 17, 1941 in Whitehall to Raymond and Edna (Ibsen) Sosalla. He graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1960. Donald married Sharon Boero on January 25, 1964 in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence.

Don was employed at American Motors in Kenosha and then moved to Milwaukee where he worked for the United States Postal Service. In 1967, Donald and Sharon returned to Whitehall to take care of the family farm which he farmed until the time of his death.

Don "Big Dog" loved his farm and his family. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was a proud Wisconsin Badger, Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan.

Donald was especially proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events and showing their animals and projects at the fair. He always had a smile on his face and will be dearly missed.

Don is survived by his wife, Sharon; four children, Cheryl Sosalla, Craig (Kristin) Sosalla, Michelle (Michael) Kreye and Michael (Michelle) Sosalla; ten grandchildren, Brandon, Courtney, Jacob, Zachary, Keaton, Raquel, Andrea, Christian, Megan and Luke; three step-grandchildren, Joshua, Evan and Michaela; two step-great-grandchildren, Gracie and Addie; three sisters, Patricia Mack, Susan (Scott) Morris and Ellyn Sosalla; two brothers, Larry (Andi) Sosalla and Richard Sosalla; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a nephew, Robb Mack.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John's Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Father Woodrow Pace will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christian prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
