Donna Lynn Fernholz, age 60, of Independence, died on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in the Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau.

Donna was born on August 26, 1962 in Whitehall to Ronald E. and Barbara Jean (Adams) Harms.  She married Karl Fernholz on October 1, 1983 in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall.

Donna graduated from the Whitehall High School and attended technical school in LaCrosse.

Donna provided childcare in her home and enjoyed crafting.

Donna was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall and was active in its various organizations including WELCA, Sunday school and confirmation.

Donna is survived by her husband, Karl; a step-daughter, Klara (Jerry) Fahnel of Wabasha, MN; two step-granddaughters, Paige Fahnel (Ken Phillips) of LeSueur, MN and Aubri "Brendon" Fahnel of Wabasha, MN; a step-great-grandson, Waylon John Phillips; two brothers, Randy (Kathy) and Wayne (June) Harms both of Whitehall; nieces and nephews, Zachary and Haley Harms, Kennedy and MaggieMay Harms.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall.  Pastor Peter Jonas will officiate.
