Dorothy Marcella Grace Burt, age 90, of Blair, died on Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.

Dorothy was born on March 3, 1925 in Sechlerville (Jackson County), WI to Oscar and Mabel (Toraason) Odegaard. She married Robert M. Burt on January 12, 1943 in Milwaukee. Robert preceded Dorothy in death on November 24, 2004.

Dorothy and Robert moved to Hager City, WI in 1963. Dorothy was employed at the Arcadia and Winona Industries and was the floor supervisor for Red Wing Industries in Red Wing, MN.

In 1981, Dorothy and Robert purchased the Sunnyside School in Tappen Coulee, rural Blair, and remodeled it into their home.

Dorothy is survived by four children, James (Charlotte) Burt of Ellsworth, Rodney (Donna) Burt of Lakeland, MN, Linda (Tim) Foster of Hudson and Karen (Kermit) Swanson of Rush City, MN; eight grandchildren, Robert Burt of Aurora, CO, Steven Burt of Prescott, Jennifer (Todd) Stubbe of New Richmond, Chad Burt of Hudson, Mike (Brenda) Haessig of Wisconsin Rapids, Renee (Seth) Marcus of Ringwood, NJ, Bryan (Stacy) Foster of Stevens Point and Aaron (Heather) Swanson of Minneapolis, MN; eight great-grandchildren, Camen and Ryan Haessig, Clarence Burt, Jacob and Samantha Marcus, Claire and Cameron Foster and Jack Swanson and two great-grandchildren expected in 2016; a sister, Virginia Dale of Whitehall.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Haessig; two brothers, Otto and Paul Odegaard and two sisters, Aloydis King and Orvella Larsen.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
