Duane C. Stenberg, age 74, of Blair, died peacefully in his home on Friday, July 22, 2016.

Duane was born on February 10, 1942 in Arcadia to Donald H. and Carrol (Gunderson-Olson) Stenberg. He married Joanette Thompson on February 17, 1968 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair.

Duane was employed as a district troubleman with NSP for 32 years prior to his retirement.

Duane enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, playing cards and was a member of the Blair Lions Club. Duane especially enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.

Duane is survived by his wife, Joanette; three children, Jason (Heather) Stenberg of Portage, Gregory (Jennifer) Stenberg of West Salem and Carol (Mark) Hartmann of Baraboo; six grandchildren, Monte, Sam, Tom, Sabrina, Ellie and Carter.

Duane was preceded in death by his mother, Carrol Gunderson-Olson; his step-father, George Olson; his father, Don Stenberg; his step-mother, Helen Stenberg and his grandparents, Melvin and Ethel Gunderson and Einer and Laura Stenberg.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.

Visitation will be Monday, July 25, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
