Dustin Jon Haarsma, age 28, of Blair, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in his home.

Dustin was born on March 6, 1983 in Sioux Center, IA. Dustin and his family moved to Blair in 1999. He graduated from the Blair-Taylor High School in 2001.

Dustin was in the Army National Guard while in high school. After graduation he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 2005 due to his health.

Dustin was a huge football fan and enjoyed playing video games.

Dustin is survived by his parents, Kelly and Miriam Haarsma of Blair; two brothers, Luke (Brittany) and Michael (Jenna Hutchens) Haarsma both of Blair; a sister, Nicole (Mike) Moyer of Blair; a nephew, Zakary Moyer of Blair; a niece, Jeaelyn Moyer of Blair; his grandparents, Art and Joan Van Riessen of Sioux Center, IA and Gloria Haarsma of Sioux Falls, SD; aunts, uncles and cousins, Rob (Pam) Van Riessen of Sioux Center, IA and their children, Angie and Brett; Gary (Roxanne) Van Riessen of Kansas City, MO and their children, Kelly, Erec and Tyler; Lesa (Maynard) Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD and their son, Nick; Michelle (James) Gareats of Sioux Falls, SD and their children, Emily, Hannah and Ashley.

Dustin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Peter Haarsma and a brother, Craig.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair.
