Edith Marie Noren, age 96, of Blair, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Edith was born on May 3, 1926 to Ed and Lillian (Greenshield) Lien at home in the town of Franklin.  Edith was baptized and confirmed at the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, where on May 4, 1946, she was also united in marriage to Myron Noren in a double wedding with Ray Lien and Norma Noren.

Myron and Edith were blessed with two sons, Monte (Jynette) Noren and Merle (Jenny) Noren; eight grandchildren, Kylee (Josh) Zander, Lexa Noren, Travis Noren, Jacob Noren, Layne (Giselle) Noren, Jillian (Jamie) Hillestad, Joe (Britny) Tollefson and Jenny (Eric) Tollefson and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Myron, Edith was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lillian Lien; two half-brothers, Edmund Lien and Osburne Lien; three half-sisters, Victoria Hurley, Constance Larkin and Verna Vlahakis; two sisters, Pearl Thompson and Deloris Kampen; four brothers, Laverne Lien, Raymond Lien, Lyle Lien and Carroll Lien and two grandchildren, Travis Noren and Lexa Noren.

In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Edith is survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Norma Lien and many nieces and nephews.

Edith was sassy, sharp, faithful, active and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Edith left behind some notes for her family in anticipation for her funeral and said, "make it a happy occasion - not a sad one." She loved the life she lived and felt she did all she wanted to. She was blessed and we were also blessed to have her in our lives for so long.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Beaver Creek First Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick.  Pastor Adam Arends will officiate.
