Edna Marion Sosalla, age 92, of Whitehall, WI died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 in her home.

Edna was born on December 23, 1919 in Moline, IL to Christian and Gudrun (Belboe) Ibsen. She was confirmed in the Chimney Rock Lutheran Church, but became a practicing Catholic after her marriage.

Edna graduated from the Independence High School and married Ray Sosalla on June 6, 1937 in Winona MN. Ray preceded Edna in death in 1969.

Edna had a love for life. She was a charter member of St. John's Catholic Church and was active in the ladies organizations of the church. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and baking, watching the Packers and Brewers, and could always be seen at her grandchildren's baseball games or whatever the grandchildren were playing. Edna enjoyed the time spent with family and playing cards or scrabble, which she usually won.

Edna is survived by six children; Patricia Mack of Ettrick, Donald (Sharon) Sosalla of Whitehall, Larry (Andi) Sosalla of Bella Vista, AR, Dick Sosalla of Whitehall, Ellyn Sosalla of Whitehall and Susie (Scott) Morris of Whitehall; fourteen grandchildren, Kerri (Douglas) Rod of Arlington, TX, Kelly (David) Mattison of Blair, Kristen (Ray) Johnson of Onalaska, Kathryn (Michael) McNairy of Halton City, TX, David (Cora) Mack of Ettrick, Cheryl Sosalla of Whitehall, Craig (Kristin) Sosalla of Whitehall, Michelle (Michael) Kreye of Wabasha, MN, Michael (Michelle) Sosalla of Andover, MN, Amy (Steve) Morrow of Edmond, OK, Matthew (Erica) Sosalla of Lavista, NE, Kevin Sosalla of LaCrosse, Derek Morris of Studio City, CA; and Brock Morris of Whitehall; twenty seven great- grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Irene Ibsen of Hopkins, MN.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by three brothers Alf, Kenneth and Roy and a grandson, Robert Mack.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John's Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Father Woodrow Pace will officiate.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christian prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
