Elmer "Jr." Freeman Everson, age 86, of rural Blair, died on Monday, November 21, 2022 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse surrounded by his loving family.

Elmer was born on January 1, 1936 in rural Blair to Elmer and Evelyn (Johnson) Everson. He married Rose Pederson on August 6, 1960 in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall.

Jr. attended Sunny Side school and graduated from the Blair High School. He was drafted in 1955 into the United States Army and served 2 years, 16 months in Korea. Jr. purchased the family farm and farmed until his retirement. He served on the board at AMPI & Cenex and was a member of the church council. Jr. enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his trips to Canada.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Rose; a son, Terry (Charlotte) Everson; five daughters, Tammy (Tim) Sichler, Susan (Bruce) Curran, Shari (Vogel) Grote, Emily and Ellen Everson; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three brothers, Wally, Truman and Jerry (Rosemary) Everson.

In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl (Jean) Everson and Alfred (Irene) Everson; two sisters-in-law, Elise Everson and Gloria Everson and two nephews, Kenny and Keith Everson.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair.  Pastor Paul Sannerud will officiate.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Lunch will be provided at the Blair Haus following burial.
