Evelyn Alvina Rebarchek, age 89, of Whitehall, died on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

Evelyn was born on January 25, 1924 in Arcadia, WI to Jacob and Elizabeth (Mish) Waletzko.

Evelyn's early intentions were to become a nun until her friends talked her into going to a dance at the Armory in Arcadia where she met the love of her life, Edward J. Rebarchek. Evelyn and Edward were married on June 18, 1946 in North Creek, WI. Together they raised eight children. Edward preceded Evelyn in death on May 11, 1992. Evelyn lived on the home farm for 67 years.

Evelyn's passions in life was to be a loving wife and mother, her family and friends and God. After a long day of farming, Evelyn relaxed by crocheting and discussing the day with her husband.

She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, fishing and spending Sunday afternoons playing whist with her family
Evelyn is survived by three sons, Ronald of Independence, Edward (special friend, Sophie) of Janesville and Jerome (Diane) of Arcadia; four daughters, Mary Prokop of Whitehall, Diane Woychik of Janesville, Debra (Darrell) Julson of Whitehall and Rita (Roy) Kinser of Chesapeake, VA; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Lorraine (Ronald) Marsolek of Independence and Jeanette (Donald) Tillman of South Carolina; three brothers, Ralph Waletzko of Whitehall, LeRoy (Rose) and Roger (Diane) Waletzko both of Independence; a sister-in-law, Rosie Waletzko of Arcadia.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, Alphonse; two brothers, Edmund and Aloize; a sister, Darlene Kaiser; three grandsons, Paul and Brady Rebarchek and Craig Woychik; a daughter-in-law, Denise Rebarchek and a son-in-law, Thomas Woychik.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint John's Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Father Woodrow Pace will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christian prayer service will be held followed by a parish rosary. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
