Forrest Ray Henderson's Obituary
Forrest Ray Henderson, age 82, of Galesville, died on Friday, December 19, 2014 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.
Forrest was born in the town of Gale, Trempealeau County, WI on August 4, 1932 to Joel and Mabel (Anderson) Henderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the North Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. Forrest graduated from the Galesville High School in 1950. His friends through school and after called him "Timber".
Forrest married Elizabeth Cornell on April 3, 1954 in Hardie's Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. They were high school classmates and enjoyed 60 years of marriage.
In his early years, Forrest owned three milk trucks and delivered can milk to the Galesville Creamery for ten years. In 1963 he began working for U.O.P. Norplex in LaCrosse. In 1976 Forrest was appointed temporary plant manager of Norplex in Franklin, IN. Later in 1976, he was made permanent plant manager of Norplex in Black River Falls, retiring in 1984.
Forrest was a member of the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and was a deacon and was also on the Sunday School Board. He enjoyed playing cards, playing the accordion, taking care of his yard, mowing grass, watching and feeding the birds and going for rides with Elizabeth on the motorcycle. Forrest was a Jack of All Trades and loved his dogs.
Forrest is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Monica (Jeff) Keesling and Valerie (Scott) Langworthy both of Dodge Center, MN and Deborah (Belah) Boe of Dover, MN; six grandchildren, Stacy Keesling, Joel, Casey (Diana) and Drew Langworthy, Jacob and Rachel Boe; three great-grandchildren, Sierra Keesling, Austyn and Rece Langworthy; two brothers, LaVern (Ruby) Henderson of Galesville and Larry Henderson of Blair.
In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a grandson, Matthew Keesling and a brother, Kaye Henderson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the French Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Anna Sorenson will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
