Frank Andrew Wiench, age 84, of Whitehall, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in Rolling Meadows in Strum.

Frank was born on February 17, 1940 in the town of Burnside, Trempealeau County, WI to Frank Casper and Stella (Puchalla) Wiench.  He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961 and his favorite saying was "He crossed the Atlantic Ocean fourteen times over, under and all around.

Frank married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Boero shortly after returning home from the Navy.

Frank was a well known and respected insurance agent for over thirty years.  He loved the outdoors, horses, hunting, fishing, his family and friends, golfing and gambling.

Frank is survived by four children, Anthony Wiench, Laurie Wiench-Grimm, Beth (Richard) Bennett and Kristen (Thomas) Stephens; two sisters, Betty (Andy) Klimek and Esther (Bill) Zezulka; seven grandchildren, Amber Reed, Lucas, Logan, Gavin and Trevor Stephens, Brent Grimm and Shelby Warner; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, Herman (Rosanne) Wiench and Mike Wiench; three sisters, Romelle (Harold) Christianson, Lucy (Jim) Micheau and Deloris Wiench; a brother-in-law, Andy Klimek; a grandson, Ben Warner, four nephews, Lance Klimek, Mike Klimek, Roger Christianson and Gary Christianson and a niece, Julie Wiench.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence with Father George officiating.

Burial with military honors conducted by the Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post 191will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Whitehall.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 5-6 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christian prayer service followed by a parish rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m.  Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
