Gary LeRoy Aleckson, age 76, of rural Taylor, died on Friday, February 27, 2015 in his home.

Gary was born on August 27, 1938, in Galesville, WI, to Millard and Alice (Waller) Aleckson. He married Fern Anderson on July 6, 1957, in Blair.

Gary and Fern farmed for many years in Beaver Creek. Gary enjoyed NASCAR, tractor pulls, auctions and following the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Gary is survived by his wife, Fern; four children, Danny (friend, Tina Newsome) of rural Taylor, Billie Jo (Tim) Hague of Hermosa, SD, Darcy Jo Mullins of Hixton and Cody (Stephanie Jahr) Aleckson of Blair; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four brothers, Milton Aleckson of Black River Falls, Dean (friend, Cindy) Aleckson of Melrose, Herbert (Shari) Aleckson of West Salem and Donald (Mary) Aleckson of Whitewater; two sisters, Lois (George) Johnson of Strum and Ardyce Hagen of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Debbie Aleckson of Galesville.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Hague; a sister, Jean (Leonard) Nash; a brother, Kenneth Aleckson; two sisters-in-law, Patricia and Marlene Aleckson and a brother-in-law, R. James Hagen.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Taylor with Pastor Benjamin Ahles-Iverson officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blair at a later date.

Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
