Gary Richard Salter, age 86, of Eau Claire, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 in Cambridge Assisted Living in Eau Claire.
Gary was born on April 18, 1940 in Mt. Clemens, MI to Richard and Marie (Peltier) Salter. He married Carolyn Annette Hanson on June 18, 1966.
Gary is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Kelly Olson, Michelle Felkey and Elizabeth King; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three brothers, Ron, Larry and Tom.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Skip.
Gary may no longer be by our side, but he will live in our hearts forever. We will take comfort in knowing that Gary is finally at peace, free from the struggles of dementia. Forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
Memorial services will be held at the Spirit Lutheran Church in Eau Claire at a later date.
