Gaylord Leroy Rhoades, age 72, of Taylor, died on Friday, August 26, 2016 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Gaylord was born on December 27, 1943 in Jackson County, WI to Amasa and Alice (Hulburt) Rhoades. He married Nancy Schumacher on September 17, 1987 in the Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Church in rural Taylor.

Gaylord was employed as a farm hand, raised goats, worked in a cheese factory and a grape farm, working in many states. He moved back to Wisconsin in 1986. Gaylord helped out at the Taylor Museum and delivered the Arrow Shopper.

Gaylord is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Michelle Huntferson; a son, Daniel Rhoades; a step-son, two step-daughters, four nieces, Marie (Tony) Johnson, Lee Ann Mortenson, Rosemary (Gordon) Johnson and Linda (David) Schumacher; many grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

In addition to his parents, Gaylord was preceded in death by a sister, Pearline Durham and an infant brother, Willis.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair with Pastor Benjamin Ahles-Iverson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
