Gerald "Jerry" Owen, age 70, of Blair, died on Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Jerry was born October 18, 1943 in the Whitehall Community Hospital in Whitehall to Oscar and Gunda (Kvam) Nordby. He was raised in Fly Creek and graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1961. Jerry married Carol Jean Stenulson on January 5, 1963 in Whitehall. They lived their entire married life in the Blair area.

Jerry worked for Land O'Lakes feed mill and later worked at AMPI Blair Division for more than 35 years.

Jerry enjoyed spending time "up north" on the lake fishing and hunting. He was an avid sportsman. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Blair Lutheran Church East.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Valerie (Michael) Granlund and Shannon (Keith) Johnson; four grandchildren, Ethan and Leah Granlund, Chelsea (Jacob) Stephenson and Lindsey (Matt Seifert) Johnson; a great-grandchild, Weston Seifert all of Blair; a brother, Norman (Myrtle) Nordby; four sisters, Mavis (Orville Dahl) Mitskogen, Shirley (Richard) Eide, Gloria Qualley and Clarice (Donald) Laehn; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Nordby and Jeanette Anderson and three brothers, George, Odell and Owen Nordby.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blair Lutheran Church East with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
