Gisela Kunzelman, age 86, of Holmen, died on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in  Bluffview Memory Care in Holmen.

Gisela was born on September 28, 1939 in Dusseldorf, Germany to Wilhelm Karl and Sophia Karoline (Zimmer) Ruediger.   She married Roger W. Kunzelman on March 1, 1962 in Dusseldorf, Germany.  Roger preceded Gisela in death on May 11, 2011.

Gisela always remembered WWII even though she was very young.  The family had to relocate from Dusseldorf to live at a farm in the countryside away from allied bombing campaigns.  She remembered hearing the radio transmissions from England notifying when the bombers would be arriving and hearing them bombing the steel mills where her father worked at the time.  After war ended she also recalled the occupation and the growing up during the rebuilding of the Dusseldorf after WWII and met her husband Roger Kunzelman who was stationed in Germany as a Sgt. Major with the army as part of the occupation forces in the late 1950's.

Gisela is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Heather) Kunzelman and a granddaughter, Cali Anna Kunzelman.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gisela was preceded in death by three siblings, Willi, Erika and Renata.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Amoth-Johnson Cemetery in rural Ettrick.  Pastor John Ashland will officiate.
