Gladys Instenes, age 97, of rural Ettrick, died on Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Gladys was born on June 12, 1920 in Galesville to Sigvart and Anna (Herreid) Molstad. She married Spencer T. Instenes on October 19, 1946 on the Molstad family farm in Abrahams Coulee. Together they farmed in rural Ettrick. Spencer preceded Gladys in death on November 27, 2001.

Gladys enjoyed cooking and baking Scandinavian foods. Gladys was a member of the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and was active in its various organizations.

Gladys is survived by a son, Roger (Franacee) Instenes of Ettrick; two daughters, Suzanne (Randy) Lindberg of Hixton and Mary (Randy) Tollefson of Ettrick; six grandchildren, Nathan (friend, SuAnn) Instenes, Melissa (Bert) Rivero, Brent Engebretson, Nicole (Chris) Rommel, Michelle (Steve) Deml and Mark (Lisa) Nelson; 14 great-grandchildren, Matt Engebretson, Grace Engebretson, Gage Instenes, Gavin Instenes, Sierra Instenes, Noelle Bergerson, Danika Rommel, Makayla Nelson, Natalie Nelson, Vanya Rivero, Vivian Rivero, Emma Deml, Anna Deml and Jake Deml.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by three sisters, Berdella Saed, Selma Bue and Clara Molstad.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Barbara Knutson and Chaplain Kevin Newell will officiate.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
