Gordon Michael Jacobs, age 56, of Ettrick, formerly Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from a heart attack while cross-country skiing.

Gordy was born on June 15, 1957 in La Crosse, WI to the late Edward and Agatha (Maul) Jacobs. Gordy graduated from G-E-T High School in 1975 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1980. On September 24, 1983, Gordy married Kim Ofsdahl at French Creek Lutheran Church, in rural Ettrick, WI. Gordy worked as a heating and ventilation engineer in La Crosse, Green Bay, and Eau Claire, and was an active member of ASHRAE.

Gordy was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Green Bay, where he enjoyed playing bass guitar in the church's contemporary music group. An avid outdoorsman, Gordy was active in many hobbies that included running, bicycling, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family, from coaching his children in a soccer and baseball to relaxing with family and friends at home.

Gordy was survived by his wife of 30 years, Kim; daughter Amy (Bret Bostwick); son Michael; step-father Clayton Arneson; siblings Patricia (Rev. Thomas) Baker, Dave (Joanne) Jacobs, Jeff (Susan) Jacobs, Dan (friend Donna Runice) Jacobs; and brother-in-law Al Rothering. He was preceded in death by parents Edward and Agatha and sister Kathy Rothering.

Friends may call at French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick, WI on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 12:30 PM until services at 3:00 PM, with Reverend Anna Sorenson officiating.
