Gregory Allen Jurowski, age 63, of rural Independence, died on Monday, May 21, 2018 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

Greg was born on September 9, 1954 in Arcadia to Richard and Margaret (Bichsel) Jurowski and raised in Whitehall. He attended the Whitehall High School and graduated in 1972. He later built a home in the countryside between Independence and Whitehall near the Jurowski family farm.

Greg was Partner/President of R.J. Jurowski Construction, Inc. (RJJ) and worked for the company for over 40 years. He began in the construction industry in 1972 with his father and brothers at the family business. Greg started as a carpenter apprentice and worked his way up the ladder to oversee the day-to-day business operations of the company. He took pride in the family nature of RJJ and enjoyed going to work every day knowing that he would be working with close family members and friends.

Greg served on the Board of Directors of Pigeon Falls State Bank, including the Bank of Whitehall and the Bank of Augusta. He was also a Board Member of the Wisconsin Commercial Deer & Elk Farmer's Association.

Greg was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time with his loving partner, Deb, on their hobby farm where they raised 40-50 elk on The Jurowski Little Ranch. He loved hunting with family and friends in rural Wisconsin and annual hunting trips to Montana. He also took pleasure in salmon fishing on Lake Michigan.

Greg is survived by his loving partner, Deborah Mahutga; his father, Richard Jurowski of Whitehall; a daughter, Amy (Richard) Harrison of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; a son, Sandon Jurowski of Boise, ID; a step-daughter, Emily (Tim) Abley of Osseo; five grandchildren, Grace Harrison, Sean and Devin Jurowski and Hannah and Conner Abley; three brothers, Randy (Cheryl) Jurowski of Independence, Tony (Jean) Jurowski of Owatonna, MN and Bill (Terri) Jurowski of Whitehall.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Mary Jurowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery both in Independence. Father Woodrow Pace will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
