Hazel Viola Foss, age 82, of Fly Creek, died on Monday, December 17, 2012 in the Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall.

Hazel was born on November 30, 1930 to Selmer and Emma Johnson. She Married Francis Foss on December 13, 1947 in Blair.

Hazel and Francis farmed in Fly Creek. Hazel was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and was active in its various organizations. Hazel enjoyed cooking, baking, ceramics, gardening, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Hazel is survived by her husband, a son, Les (Joanne) Foss of Fly Creek; seven grandchildren, Chad (Laura) Foss, Chris Foss, Brandon (April) Foss, Heather (Gary) Cummings, Jeremy (Amy) Foss, Mandy Foss and Kari (Luke) Kelsey; seven great-grandchildren, Kade and Kye Foss, Harlow and Rylan Foss, Liza, Ava and Owen Cummings; two sisters, Elaine Kupka and Shirley (Wally) Ryan.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by two brothers, Spencer and Rodney and a sister, Thelma Hanson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall. Pastor Kris Fahey will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Whitehall Cemetery in rural Whitehall.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
