Hazel Marie Thorpe, age 90, of Blair, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Hazel was born on June 18, 1927 in the town of Preston, rural Blair, to John and Olive (Berg) Thompson. She married Caroll "Bobbin" Eugene Thorpe on June 5, 1948 in the First Lutheran Church in Blair. Caroll preceded Hazel in death on September 17, 2011.

Hazel did babysitting in her home and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and baking. She was always remodeling her home and loved her dogs.

Hazel was a member of Blair Lutheran Church East and was active in its various organizations.

Hazel is survived by three children, Carl (Carol) Thorpe of Taylor, Susan (Larry) Jorgenson and Dawn (John) Vinson both of Wisconsin Rapids; four grandchildren, Signe and Ingrid Jorgenson, Matthew (Amy) and Bethany Vinson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by seven brothers, Melvin, Arnold, Oscar, Earl, James, Henry and Sophus Thompson and a sister, Olga Knudtson.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church East in Blair with Pastor John Ashland officiating. Burial will be in the Fagernes Lutheran Cemetery in rural Blair.
