Helen Geraldine Amundson, age 86, of Blair, died on Monday, October 23,2023 in the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

Helen was born on June 6,1937 in Whitehall to Oscar and Belle (Brekke) Olson.  She married Dean R. Amundson on August 17,1957 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair.  Dean preceded Helen in death on April 25, 2013.

Helen was employed as a CNA at the Grand View Care Center in Blair for several years prior to her retirement.

Helen was a very musical woman. She and her sisters, Ruth and Irene, would sing and entertain the residents of area nursing homes.  Helen was also a member of the Norwegian Singers.  She was a big animal lover and would always carry doggie treats in her purse.

Helen was a kind, humble and generous person who always had a smile for everyone.

Helen is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by eight sisters, Ruth Thompson, Irene Everson, Clara Odemoe, Ovidia Gilbertson, Bertha Thompson, Bernice Salzwedel, Edna Kelly and Betty Fremstad and four brothers, Edwin, Odell, James and Norman.

Private family services and burial were held on Thursday morning, November 2, 2023 in the Zion Lutheran
Cemetery in Blair.

Memorials may be designated to the Trempealeau County Humane Society or the Blair Lutheran Church.
