Henry Norman Onsrud, age 84, of French Creek, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

Henry was born on June 18, 1930 in Ettrick to John Emil and Gina (Tranberg) Onsrud. He was baptized on August 17, 1930 and confirmed December 10, 1944 in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. Henry attended the Wayside School in French Creek.

On December 2, 1967 Henry married Marla Bryhn in the South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and together they farmed in French Creek.

Henry enjoyed bowling and was a member of the French Creek Lutheran Church, belonging to its council and was a trustee.

Henry is survived by his wife, Marla; five daughters, Lisa (Jeffrey) Bautch of Arcadia, Tami (Tom) Bork of Trempealeau, Jodi Onsrud of Arcadia, Jana (Greg) Dejno of Independence and Kara Onsrud of Ettrick; 12 grandchildren, a sister, Gertie Erickson of Ettrick and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Olson of Osseo.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by three sisters, an infant, Selma Hoff and Mabel Olson; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Erickson, Carl Hoff and Carl Engelien and three nieces, Janice Hanson, Audrey Berg and Barbara Stankey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the French Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Anna Sorenson will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the church and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
