Howard "Tubby" Eugene Boe, age 72, of rural Blair, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 18, 2012 in his home.

Howard was born on August 20, 1940 in Blair to Ernest and Hazel (Holte) Boe. He graduated from the Blair High School. After graduation Howard worked for Allis Chalmers in LaCrosse, the Jackson County Iron Mine and prior to his retirement, was employed with the Webster Lumber Company in Blair and Bangor.

Howard married Karen Kvistad on June 24, 1961 in the First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Howard enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting, fishing, feeding birds, football, whistling and spending time with his dog, Ariana.

Howard is survived by his wife, Karen; three children, Deborah (Daniel) Fenn of Waterville, IA, Haldon "Ole" (Marilyn Dabelstein) Boe and Keith (Patricia) Boe both of Trempealeau; six grandchildren, Isaac and Anastasia Fenn, Brandon and Kaitlyn Boe, Matthew and Corey Otto; two great-granddaughters, Nevaeh and Carleigh Otto; two sisters, Barbara Halpern of Whitehall and Helen (Stanley) Marthaler of Blair; a brother, Byron Boe of Blair.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the Blair Lutheran Church West with Pastor Barbara Bruneau officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of service.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
