Inez Viola Rude, age 95, of Blair, died on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Inez was born on October 3, 1920 in the town of Franklin, Jackson County, WI to John and Inga (Halverson) Otterson. She married Rolf H. Rude on June 14, 1941 in Blair. Rolf preceded Inez in death on January 24, 1998.

Inez and Rolf farmed in rural Blair for 43 years prior to moving to Blair in 1979.
Inez was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Blair and was active in its various organizations. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, making crafts on plastic canvas, baking, making donuts and lefse and was proud of her Norwegian heritage.

Inez is survived by a daughter, Beverly (William) Schlink of Bloomington, MN; a son, Ron (Karen) Rude of Sandusky, OH; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a brother, Orlin Otterson of Madison and a brother-in-law, Robert Talford of Mondovi.

In addition to her parents and husband, Inez was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Burnett and Norman Otterson and a sister, Verna Talford.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church East with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate.
