Irene Ruth Crivits, age 91, of Ettrick/Blair, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Irene was born on July 29, 1923 in rural Holmen to Harold and Anna (Lesky) Odemoe along with a twin sister, Eileen, who preceded her in death on June 15, 2012.

Irene married Stuart W. Crivits on November 25, 1943 in Trempealeau in a double wedding with her twin sister, Eileen.

Irene was a very active person in her days. She loved to care for people in the area. Irene and her husband farmed for many years and in addition Irene was employed with Winona Industries, Lake Center Industries and Surge Company for several years prior to her retirement.

Irene loved her flowers and yard work. She was a baker of sandbakkels that she loved to make and give away. On weekends, Irene and her husband would go to dances where her brother-in-law played. They loved to dance, even in the barn.

Irene is survived by three daughters, Ardyce Hass, Shirley Paar and Rita (Robert) Howe; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and another on the way; a very special niece, Julie Crivits, who was like a daughter to Irene; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Greenwold and Corrine Hoff.

In addition to her parents and husband, Stuart, who preceded Irene in death on February 8, 2010, Irene was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, James B. Hass and Gary L. Paar; her twin sister, Eileen; a sister-in-law, Lucille Thompson; two brothers-in-law, Goethal and Willard Crivits and a great-grandson, Creed.

A very special thank you to all the staff and nurses at the Grand View Care Center who took care of our mother with love and care.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Elizabeth Albertson will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
