James Arthur Beck, age 73, of Taylor, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in his home with his wife by his side.

Jim was born on June 5, 1941 in Black River Falls to Arthur and Alice (Syverson) Beck. He graduated from the Melrose High School in 1959. Jim served for three years in the United States Army being stationed in Augsburg, Germany.

Jim married Bonnie Halverson on July 25, 1964 and they enjoyed nearly 50 years together. They lived nearly all their married life in the Franklin area near Taylor. Jim worked a variety of jobs throughout his life. There were few jobs that he could not master and was always game for a new challenge.

Jim enjoyed muskie fishing up north near Glidden, Winter and Loretta, WI spending many relaxing days out in his boat. He also did a lot of deer hunting on their farm.

Jim is survived by his wife, Bonnie; a son, Troy (Kathy) Beck; three grandchildren, Natasha (fiance`, Brandon) Beck, Tyler (Amanda) Beck and Brandon (friend, Lexi) Beck; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Haileigh and Arieanne and another grandchild on the way. Jim enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them. They all brought him much joy.

Jim is also survived by a brother, Bernie of Hixton ; a sister, Lael Richter of Racine; one nephew, five nieces and many cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Norita Beck; a sister-in-law, Shirley Beck and a brother-in-law, Eddie Richter.

We love you and miss you Jim. Rest in peace.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair with Pastor Barbara Bruneau officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
