James David Fullington, age 88, formerly of Whitehall, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in the Azura Memory Care facility in Oshkosh.

James was born on October 12, 1936 in Jackson, TN to Jesse and Evie (Harden) Fullington. His family moved to Chicago, IL when he was a teenager.

James worked in the auto service industry for years and served most proudly in law enforcement as a police officer and then as a deputy sheriff in Illinois. He was a member of the Shriner's Horse Patrol in Woodstock, IL.  Upon the move to Whitehall in 2000, he worked briefly at Ashley Furniture prior to his retirement. James enjoyed writing stories online about his life.

James is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Lambrigtsen) Fullington of Pigeon Falls, WI; two daughters, Loretta Gambrell of Panama City, FL and Judy Bulger of Crystal Lake, IL as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and five siblings, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann (Mayer) Fullington and their sons, David Samuel and Daniel Edward Fullington.

James will be laid to rest at the Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Cemetery in rural Northfield.
