Janet Mae Thesing, age 80, of Pigeon Falls, formerly of Winona, MN, died on Thursday, August 17, 2017 in the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.

Janet was born on July 4, 1937 in Pickwick, MN to Paul and Laura (Haack) Steinfeldt.  She married Donald Thesing on January 14, 1956 in LaCrescent, MN.  Donald preceded Janet in death on August 16, 1980.

Janet was employed as a certified nursing assistant and medical technician at the  Watkins Nursing Home in Winona, MN prior to her retirement.  Janet enjoyed doing needle work, cooking and family Christmas's. She loved little kids and little kids loved her. She was also an active member of the Eagles Club in Winona, MN and did volunteer work for the food pantry.

Janet is survived by three children, Nolan (Cindy) Thesing of Sparta, Rosemarie (friend, Tim Kulig) Thesing of Whitehall and Rita (Steve) Pietras of Winter; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Streier.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall with Mr. Scott Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Dakota, MN at a later date.
