Jeremy Laverne Kammerude, age 41, of Luck, WI died on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN after his short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Jeremy was born on December 9, 1980 in Monroe, WI to Edward and Julie (Wirtz) Kammerude.  He married his high school sweetheart, Jessica L. Wenger (Ubersox) and was blessed with two children, Drake and Justis. Jeremy and Jessica later divorced.  He married his soulmate, Ashley Brown on February 15, 2016 in Trempealeau County, WI and they were blessed with three children, Patience, Russell and Mark.

Jeremy's life was taken away to soon, but he lived an amazing life.  Growing up he was surrounded by a very close, large, loving family and many friends.  He had a heart of gold and helped and took care of the people he loved.  He was always the one to take chances and lived life to the fullest.

Jeremy found his calling when he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on February 22, 2000 where he gained even more family and loved ones.  He was honorably discharged on September 30, 2005.  He earned his Purple Heart, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon (Kuwait/Iraq), Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Iraq), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service medal, Presidential Unit Citation-Navy and Meritorious Mast (2).

Jeremy was beyond proud of serving our country.  After his service, he had many battles with his own demons and a fight for his life, but being the strong fighter that he was, he never gave up and made it through them even stronger.

Jeremy continued to do the things he loved with the people he loved.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He loved to cook and share it with everyone.  He could walk into a room of strangers and everyone would know who he was before he left.  He was and forever will be the life of the party. Jeremy had a way of bringing people together regardless of circumstances, people were drawn to him and he made friends wherever he would go.

Jeremy was a dedicated full time father and husband. He lived for his family and friends. Whether you wanted to hunt, fish, have a fire, have a drink, go for a ride or just have a shoulder to cry on, Jeremy was that guy for anyone and everyone.  He would make you laugh, he would make you cry, and at times he would leave you just sitting there wondering what you just listened to.  That was just how Jeremy was.  He lived his life with one theory, "Live like you could be gone tomorrow", and that is exactly what he did.

Jeremy is survived by his wife, Ashley Brown; five children, Drake, Justis, Patience, Russell and Mark; his parents, Edward Kammerude and Julie (Dave Reck) Wirtz; a Big brother, Josh Kammerude; little sissy, Heather Kammerude; his grandfather, Fred Wirtz; in-laws, Cindy and Steve Pye; sisters-in-law, Kendra (David Woods) Brown and Breanna Stenberg; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and family members that meant to world to him.  If you were a friend of Jeremy's, you were family.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Lavern and Mildred Kammerude and Agnes Grimmes; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Helen Kammerude; maternal great-grandparents, Tony and Marie Bredeson,  Hulda and Grant Disrud and Gottfried Wirtz Sr.; his grandmother Sharon Wirtz/Bredeson and his aunt Jill Wirtz.

Military honors conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231 will held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jack Funeral Home in Blair.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair from noon until the time of service.
