Jerome "Jerry" John Suchla, age 87, of Whitehall, died on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in his home.

Jerome was born on July 3, 1933 in Arcadia to Aloyse and Mary (Kampa) Suchla Sr.  He married Gloria Ann Moe on February 19, 1955 in Arcadia.  Gloria preceded Jerome in death on August 5, 2017.

Jerome served in the Army National Guard and was employed with Midwest Gas for 28 years prior to his retirement.

Jerry loved to fish, play cards with friends and was quite the jokester. Gardening was one of his passions.  It was a way for him to relax.  His garden was always immaculate and full of wonderful fresh vegetables.

His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, Gloria, ("Mother") and his two daughters.  Jerry worked very hard to provide a wonderful life and home for them.  "Mother" was the love of his life.  He also loved playing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerome is survived by two daughters, Karen (Daryl) Amos and Bonnie (Paul) Konkel; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Matt, Kyle, Ian and Melissa; five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Clifford (Elaine) Suchla and Aloyse (Carol) Suchla Jr. and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jerome was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joshua and Jacob; his godson and nephew, Brian Suchla and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Phyllis (Halverson) Moe.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint John's Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall.  Father George will officiate.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.

Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post #191.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be designated to Saint Croix Hospice.
