Jon William Dannehy, born November 14, 1956, left this earth for the stars on October 27, 2015.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Dannehy, Jr., and Marlene Mae Eggers. He is survived by five amazing children, Eamon Dannehy, Melissa (Derrick) Manske, Andrew (Jennie) Dannehy, Ian Dannehy, Katrina Dannehy, his siblings, James (Joyce) Dannehy, Cheri (Ron) Doetch, Teri (Larry) Cass, Jerilyn (John) Wright, and "Kin" sister Kristine Beck from Kinstone. He had six beloved grandchildren, Kate, Nora, Marshall, Brooklyn, Brittny and Breanne.

He was a gentle man, great Bears Fan, loving father, grandfather and brother to us all. He worked over 29 years for Ashley Furniture in Arcadia, Wisconsin – this was his vocation. His passion was astronomy. From his early life in Crystal Lake, Illinois until his death, he was an avid star gazer, participating in local astronomy clubs in the area. He would set up his telescope on the sidewalks in Arcadia to share and teach about the stars and the universe that we are all a part of. He will be missed by all those he touched over the years.

He had a tremendous sense of humor which he passed on to his children along with his incredible work ethic. He was totally dedicated to his children and grandchildren. He was fun to be with, wonderful to talk to and an incredible source of information on so many subjects. He was as passionate about stewardship to this earth as he was about the stars.

Visitation will be at The Jack Funeral Home in Blair, Wisconsin on Thursday, November 5th from 4-8 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at Kinstone Academy on Friday November 6th at 11:00 A.M. Jon requested cremation and wanted to truly add to this earth by feeding a tree. We will be planting Jon's Oak Tree after the Memorial Service at Kinstone Academy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
