Josephine Evelyn Johnstad, age 91, of Blair, died on Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Josephine was born on March 30, 1925 in Taylor, WI to Lewis and Mary (Bjorkland) Peterson. She married Ernie Johnstad in Blair in 1951. Ernie preceded Josephine in death in 1977.

Josephine owned and operated Jo's Beauty Shop in Blair for over fifty years. She enjoyed traveling, her dogs, dancing, entertaining friends and family and celebrating all things Norwegian. She will missed by many.

Josephine is survived by her family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death a sister, Helen Genz; two brothers, Leonard and Adolph Peterson and a step-son, Errol Johnstad.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor John Ashland will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be designated to the Blair Lutheran Church West or the Grand View Care Center.
